Bonus Cash for College Evaluators Program
Former FPSers who are now college students make terrific evaluators. In order to expand our evaluator base with highly qualified participants from the ranks of higher education, Future Problem Solving of Virginia has instituted the following incentives:
Instead of the standard $6 per booklet rate, college evaluators will receive $50 per set of 6-7 booklets for Practice Problem#1, Practice Problem#2, and the Qualifying Problem.
College evaluators will receive $125 (instead of $100), mileage reimbursement, and a hotel room for State Bowl evaluation.
PLUS
College evaluators who evaluate Practice Problem 1 or 2, the Qualifying Problem, and the State Bowl will receive a 50% BONUS of all evaluations leading to the State Bowl. That can add up to real money - A bonus on top of a bonus.
Additionally
Future Problem Solving of Virginia will cover all expenses to train and certify college evaluators at the Fall Training Workshop at Powhatan High School on September 26th.
How to take advange of this program
Email Evaluation Director, Patty Haskins, for full details. Be sure to leave full contact information so we can start the ball rolling.
More trained evaluators =
More State Bowl invitations available
Invitations to the 2009 VAFPS State Bowl were reduced from the usual 70 teams to just 55 teams due to the limited number of committed State Bowl evaluators. After expressing concerns regarding the “feel” of the 2009 State Bowl, the executive board identified our underlying problem as "In what ways might we increase our pool of State Bowl evaluators, so that a greater number of teams can experience the State Bowl in Northumberland High School in 2010 and for State Bowls to come?"
The Bonus Cash for College Evaluators Program and extra incentives for new evaluators were selected as the best solution to implement in our 2009-10 Action Plan.
